A message from Kristine and Debra

Hi friends!

This 3-week workshop was born out of our wildly successful Book Incubator and Momentum programs (our 10-week and 6-week programs). Creating the structure or framework for a book is not only a core aspect of both of those courses, it is one of the most popular parts of our curriculum. Period. 


The relief and excitement our participants feel once they implement our book "architecturing" process is incredibly rewarding for us.

Confusion clears. Procrastination ends. Motivation and inspiration surge. And books get written . . . and published . . . and read. 


This is why we do what we do.


We know the genuine freedom, fun, and pleasure to be found in the writing process once the structure is in place. And we would love to spend these very special three weeks (beginning during Hanukkah and leading up to Christmas) helping you to create a framework and map for your book that can truly make your writing journey a beautiful and highly successful one.

Once you've completed the 3-week workshop, if you would like to have Kristine and Debra personally review and assess every aspect of your book structure and outline, you can schedule this service with us.  After they have gone over your material and met with each other to discuss the details, Kris and Debra will gather with you via Zoom in a one-hour mentoring session to further refine your framework together.

If this feels like an important next step for you, you can schedule this assessment process to take place after the Christmas/New Year's holiday, and ideally in January or February in order to keep pace with the momentum you've created.

Frequently asked questions

I already have a book outline written and have started writing my chapters, but I'm feeling stuck. Is this workshop for me?

Yes! Oftentimes the underlying cause of feeling stalled, blocked, or unmotivated to write is that the structure of one's book needs to be further clarified. Certain aspects of the framework may simply need to be re-examined and reconfigured. By learning and working with our 10-part blueprint, and getting our feedback in real time during the Wednesday group sessions (and on boot camp days, if you can be there), your writing process will be super-charged with greater focus and clarity.

I'm at the very beginning with my book. I have lots of ideas about how I think it will look, but I haven't really written much yet. Is this workshop right for me?

A whole-hearted YES! The focus of this workshop is a powerful place to begin your book-writing journey. It will help to sharpen your focus and set you up for a highly productive, effective, and positive writing experience. By creating a solid framework for your book, you'll be motivated to write because your map will be ultra clear. Ultimately, having this framework in hand can also save you a tremendous amount of time and money in the process of completing your book. For example, one of our goals in teaching our 10-part blueprint is to help you write a first draft that requires far less re-writing and editing than is often the case with first-time writers. The blueprint will support you to write a first draft that is cohesive, clear, and that has an intelligent and elegant flow. One of our primary goals is to help you create a solid foundation for writing a book that you can be proud of . . . and one that your future readers will love.

If I do this workshop, would I still benefit by doing the 10-week Book Incubator process in the future?

Most definitely, yes! While doing this 3-week workshop will set you up for a successful writing journey and may be all you need to accomplish your book-writing goal, the Book Incubator program would be an extraordinary adjunct for you if you want to amplify your success as an author-entrepreneur. In addition to focusing on the book architecture components and taking the art and craft of the writing process deeper, the Book Incubator curriculum also includes a comprehensive focus on building your author platform. This includes essential aspects of platform-building such as:

  • starting or expanding your social media presence
  • optimizing your website or building one for the first time
  • building or growing a strong online community
  • how to start a podcast
  • how to expand your speaking opportunities
  • and more
We also focus on your publishing options, including how to prepare for publication and what comes after publication. This includes:
  • traditional publishing options
  • hybrid publishing options
  • self-publishing options
  • book marketing basics, including the essentials of an effective book launch campaign
  • and still more!
In addition to distilling our combined knowledge from the past 25 years -- as author and editor, respectively -- the Book Incubator includes a roster of exceptional guest speakers. These are writers, publishers, podcasters, social media experts, and other industry professionals who, like us, also have a passion for helping individuals to realize their dream of becoming a successful author. As you can imagine, the 10-week Incubator is action-packed. The time goes by quickly as we help you to get phenomenally prepared to start and/or complete the writing of your book.

I see that you offer the private Book Architecture Assessments as well. Can I register for that service without doing the 3-week workshop?

The 3-week workshop is a pre-requisite for the private assessment process. Based on the results we have had with our participants over the past two years, as well as our own experiences of working with the architecturing tools over many years [Kris as the author of six books and Debra as the editor of more than 25 books], we know that the work you do during the three weeks is invaluable and can't happen within the space of one assessment and coaching session. Once you've gone through the 10-part blueprint with us in the group setting, the framework of your book will be well-developed. That way, the three of us can make the utmost of our time together. In advance of meeting with you on Zoom, the two of us will personally review and evaluate the structure and outline you've created during the workshop. During our one-hour session together, we will give you our specific feedback, guidance, and recommendations for moving forward with your book. These three-way conversations are always super productive, inspiring, and fun.

Does the 3-week workshop include private coaching with one or both of you?

Because of the structure of the 3-week workshop --- and primarily due to the number of people who typically participate in our workshops and courses --- we aren't able to include private coaching for each participant in that setting. However, because we value each person's unique writing project and understand how important it is to receive specific input, we include an additional 30 minutes at the end of each Wednesday group session. From 12:00 to 12:30 pm Pacific time, after we've concluded the first hour of teaching and group interaction, we turn our attention to your individual questions, offering as much laser coaching as possible. One of the gifts of this 30-minute Q&A time is that everyone benefits from the questions and coaching that take place. Most likely, any question that you will have is one that many others have as well, and vice versa. Please also see the FAQ above regarding the private Book Architecture Assessment sessions that are available after the 3-week workshop has concluded.
