Women Holding Hands

Okay, Dear Writers. You have come so far.
Now, what's your next step?

Let's join hands and catch some momentum together!

The Momentum Program

Book Doulas' Incubator Level 2

6+ game-changing weeks:

Preparation call: December 6

Official start: January 10

Concluding: February 7

The significance of Momentum:

Without a clear and solid structure for your book, and without professional input on your writing and content, writing a book is like being out on the open seas without a navigation system. Through the direct feedback and mentoring offered through our Momentum process, you will no longer be adrift in an ocean of ideas.

You'll be sailing toward completion and publication.

Private and small group coaching & book development mentoring with Kristine and Debra

This hands-on focus is what makes Momentum so effective.

A message from Kris and Debra:

Momentum is the next stage for those of you who want to take everything you've learned in the Incubator program and make a quantum leap in your book journey. We will closely partner with you during the six+ weeks to help you attain complete clarity about your book and to make tangible progress.

We will roll up our sleeves with you to fully crystalize the architecture of your book (genre, format, content flow, outline — everything having to do with the structure of your book), and we will have our eyes and hands on your pages to give you the depth of input and guidance that will help you to write the book you dream of writing . . . one that you will be deeply proud of.  (See the "Goals & Outcomes" section below for details on this.)

This intensive process will include 8 people who are fully committed to making their book a reality. And although we will tailor your individual processes based on exactly where each of you is with the development of your book, the core elements of Momentum are outlined in the sections below.

Over the past three years of leading Momentum, we are clear that the private coaching we will do with you, in combination with the small group coaching process, will completely energize — and maybe even revolutionize — the process of completing your book.

1 Virtual Writing Retreat • The Author Vortex

January 27 & 28 (details outlined below)

Use everything you have explored and learned in the 10-week Book Incubator program and bring it all together — where you will have radical clarity about the book you're writing. This kind of clarity will fast-track the completion of your book.

Clearly identify your book genre:  We'll ensure that you're on the right track: Is it prescriptive self-help (how-to), inspirational, teaching memoir, or other?

Solidify your content flow, which will become your book outline: We'll look at the process or journey you're going to take your readers through in your book and examine your narrative arc. This will include examining the clarity and flow of your teachings or instruction along with the stories that you're choosing to bring it all fully to life.

Solidify the formatting of your content: This is an examination of the formatting that will best serve your book — standard chapters, short chapters, essays, "passages," or another designation. Also, will your chapters or essays (etc.) be divided into sections? We will help you get total clarity on this.

Articulate the promise of your book: We'll work with you to ensure that your promise is so clear and in alignment with your vision that it can be your true guiding light as you bring your book to the world.

Review of your writing:  We will review up to 6,000 words of your writing in order to give you specific input and recommendations. And if you haven't written 6,000 words by the time Momentum begins, it's no problem. We will work with what you have. You'll receive powerful guidance from us pertaining to the clarity of your writing, the articulation of your concepts, the flow of your content, the weaving of your stories with your teachings (your "showing" and "telling"), and other aspects of your work-in-progress. As you implement the recommendations we provide that you feel aligned with — revising the pages we have reviewed — you'll have edited pages that will help to guide your writing process after Momentum concludes.

Examine your book title and subtitle: We will look with you to ensure that they are the best they can be! Together we will explore . . . Are they clearly stating the promise of your book? Are they marketable? Are they awesome? If you're completely stumped about your title and/or your subtitle, we will help you to nail them!

Determine your path to completion: Whether your final step is to work with Debra and Kris to complete your manuscript within the Birthing Your Book process (getting it publisher-ready), or to work with another editor, you will move forward with a rock-solid plan.

If you want to change the world, pick up your pen and write.
